metro india news

With US President Donald Trump and his DOGE head Elon Musk investigating into the funding activities of the USAID for the past several decades, initial reports suggest that the USAID was used by the then US regime to topple governments in foreign countries to suit to the US interests as well of those closely connected with the US.

One of the starling revelations that may shock people in the country is that the funds given by the USAID various NGOs in India were used to support the Indian Against Corruption (IAC) led by self style Gandhian, anti corruption crusader Anna Hazare and his right kick now dethroned Delhi CM Aravind Kejriwal. The entire IAC movement was planned, executed with surgical precession by the RR, BJP and other political parties, organisations and influencer as well as some top level senior bureaucrats such as CAG Vinod Rai. '

The IAC movement had helped Narendra Modi to launch a tirade against the UPA II regime and with the active support of the mainstream media, the BJP led NDA defeated the UPA II. Since then Modi’s Juggernaut could not be stopped. Interestingly, after successfully executing his political motives against Congress government with the help of USAID and BJP, Anna Hazare visited US and met US senators and Congressmen.

US senators must have been very pleased with him Now with Trump and Musk cracking the whip on USAID and its key persons, evidence is emerging how the USAID and its key leaders have not only helped topple the governments and also amassed wealth for themselves. In any case, there were allegations in the past against the USAID on how it toppled the governments, fuel the unrest in several countries with an ulterior motives. While, the USAID's primary mission is to promote economic growth, agriculture, health, and democracy in developing countries, it has faced criticisms and controversies over the years.

Some critics argue that USAID has been involved in funding programs that aim to influence or overthrow governments in other countries, often under the guise of promoting democracy or human rights. These allegations are based on several historical examples:

While USAID has denied any direct involvement in regime change or coup attempts, these historical examples have contributed to the perception that the agency is sometimes used as a tool for US foreign policy interests.

The Rise of India Against Corruption

The India Against Corruption (IAC) movement emerged in 2011 as a significant protest against corruption in India, led by figures like Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal. The movement demanded the enactment of the Jan Lokpal Bill, which aimed at establishing an independent ombudsman to tackle corruption. It gained massive support through nationwide protests, hunger strikes, and widespread media coverage, tapping into public frustration with corruption scandals associated with the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government.

The Political Context

The IAC movement, while not directly aligned with any political party initially, had significant political implications. The BJP, led by Narendra Modi, in its campaign for the 2014 general elections, positioned itself as an anti-corruption force, aligning with the public sentiment stirred by IAC. This strategic alignment helped BJP to capitalize on the anti-incumbency wave against the UPA, which was marred by several high-profile corruption cases.
