International Women’s Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate on Saturday. GHMC Commissioner Srujana attended the event as the chief guest, while Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr M. Ramesh, SAVE organisation founder Vijay Ram, nutritionist and psychologist Dr Nida Fatima, several DCPs, police officers and women representatives were present.

The event was organised under the theme “Give to Gain”, focusing on women’s empowerment, healthy lifestyles and recognising the role of women in society. Speakers highlighted that empowering women is crucial for bringing positive change and development in society.

Addressing the gathering, GHMC Commissioner Srujana said discipline, clear goals and consistent hard work are essential to achieve success in any field. She shared that her desire to serve society inspired her to pursue civil services and that she secured 44th rank in the UPSC Civil Services examination through systematic preparation. She encouraged youth to believe in themselves and work hard to achieve their goals.

SAVE founder Vijay Ram stressed the importance of natural farming, stating that excessive use of chemicals in agriculture harms both soil health and human well-being. He urged farmers to adopt chemical-free farming methods.

Dr Nida Fatima emphasised that health is not limited to nutrition alone and that mental well-being is equally important.

During the event, women police officers, staff members and sanitation workers were honoured for their dedicated service. An exhibition featuring handloom products, organic food items and women-related products was also organised at the commissionerate premises, drawing significant attention from visitors and police personnel.
