CTSI, South Asia is strengthening its leadership pipeline through HiPo – The Diamond Program, a structured initiative designed to identify and develop high-potential employees for future leadership roles.
HiPo brings together promising employees and provides them with opportunities to learn, collaborate and assume greater responsibilities.The initiative begins with a comprehensive talent identification process that goes beyond performance metrics. Employees are selected based on qualities such as ownership, curiosity, growth mindset and the ability to create meaningful impact.
"HiPo is designed to recognize high performers who also show the curiosity, commitment and willingness to grow into future leadership roles," said Rahul Kulkarni, CHRO, CTSI, South Asia. "The programme looks beyond current performance and focuses on the potential individuals bring to future roles."
Selected participants undergo a Career Driver Assessment to gain insights into their strengths, motivations and leadership styles. Based on these assessments, they receive personalized development plans supported by senior leadership mentoring, coaching conversations and continuous feedback.
The learning experience combines formal training with practical exposure. Participants work on strategic business projects, engage in cross-functional collaborations, take part in knowledge-sharing forums and interact closely with senior leaders through mentoring and shadowing opportunities.
"True leadership happens when individuals are given opportunities to learn, experience, reflect and apply," said Sabari Kumar T, Lead – Learning & Development and a core committee member of the program. "HiPo was designed to create an environment that encourages ownership, continuous growth and leadership readiness."
HiPo emphasizes self-awareness, resilience and wellbeing, recognizing that effective leadership is built on both competence and character.
Highlighting the strategic importance of the initiative, Dileep Mangsuli, Chairman, CTSI, South Asia, said leadership depth is critical for long-term organizational success. Through real business challenges and cross-functional projects, participants learn to think strategically, collaborate effectively and deliver meaningful outcomes.
Bhupendra Singh, Senior Regional Business Manager at Ampath Labs, a participant said the experience helped him develop a broader understanding of solving business challenges and creating measurable impact. According to Thara Varadaraj, Lead – HiPo 2.0, the latest phase of the programme has further strengthened leadership capabilities through mentoring, practical experiences and exposure to real-world business challenges.
