District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha has instructed officials and centre managers to expedite the transportation of procured paddy. On Sunday, the Collector conducted surprise inspections of several IKP and PACS paddy procurement centres located in Adavikeshavapur, Erragollapahad, Shameerpet, Vadlakonda, Ganugupahad, Venkiryal in Janagaon Mandal; Veldanda, Ammapur, Hanmanthapur in Narmetta Mandal and Potaram, Solipur, Tarigoppula in Tarigoppula Mandal. During the visits, he reviewed the procurement process, storage arrangements, transportation facilities, and amenities being provided to farmers. He issued several instructions to the centre managers.
The Collector directed officials to complete the weighing and procurement process without any delay as soon as farmers bring their paddy to the centers. He emphasized that paddy should not remain stored at procurement centers for long periods and should be transported to mills on time. Highlighting the threat of unseasonal rains, he instructed centre managers to exercise special caution. He ordered that all procured paddy bags be fully covered with tarpaulins for protection. He also stressed that the weighing process must be conducted with complete transparency so that no complaints arise from farmers.
The Collector personally inspected records, procurement registers, truck sheets, and ePMS entries at the centers. He directed officials to arrange sufficient lorries to transport the paddy to mills promptly and prevent accumulation of stocks at procurement centers. Speaking to farmers during the inspection, Sandeep Kumar Jha assured them that due to the unseasonal rains, special measures are being taken to procure paddy quickly and transport it safely to storage points and mills. He said there is no need for farmers to worry, as the administration is implementing special steps to accelerate the procurement process.
