Carrie makes OTT debut

Stephen King’s iconic novel has been adapted as a series for the first time

The first look from the upcoming new original series, Carrie was released on July 14. Based on Stephen King’s iconic debut novel, Carrie will premiere on Prime Video soon. Adapted for television for the first time by sowrunner Mike Flanagan, Carrie stars Summer Howell in the title role. 

She was locked in after an extensive search of more than 1,000 actors. The show also stars Samantha Sloyan (The Pitt) as Margaret White, Siena Agudong (Resident Evil) as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton (Fire Country) as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette (My Life with the Walter Boys) as Tommy Ross, Josie Tota (The Buccaneers) as Tina, Arthur Conti (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) as Billy, Thalia Dudek (The Running Man) as Emaline, Amber Midthunder (Prey) as Miss Desjardin, and Matthew Lillard (Man of Tomorrow) as Principal Grayle.

Flanagan will direct four out of its eight episodes. King also serves as executive producer. Carrie was first published in 1974 and was the author’s debut novel.
