Bangkok: A cargo train crashed into a public bus on Saturday in Bangkok, killing at least eight people and injuring more than 20 others. The impact dragged several vehicles and left the bus engulfed in flames. Deputy Transport Minister Siripong Angkasakulkiat said all victims were found inside the bus, though the total number of passengers remains unclear. Authorities are probing reports the crossing barriers failed to lower properly. Witness Kittipong Raksa, whose car was struck during the collision, confirmed he did not see the safety barriers descend before the train passed.
