AINU launches center for functional and female urology

06-03-2026 12:00:00 AM

Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology (AINU) Banjara Hills marked International Women’s Day with the launch of its dedicated Centre for Functional and Female Urology. The center focuses on addressing conditions such as urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, recurrent urinary tract infections, and other complex urological disorders that uniquely impact women.

Urological health concerns among women ranging from urinary incontinence and recurrent infections to complex reconstructive and pelvic floor conditions often go unaddressed due to hesitation, social stigma, or lack of awareness. Recognizing this gap, AINU’s initiative ensures that female patients undergoing select urological procedures are supported by an entirely women-led clinical team, including surgeons, anesthetists, nurses and technicians.

From adolescent girls to elderly women, the facility offers specialized evaluation and tailored treatment plans for urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and other functional urological concerns. Dr. Sarika Pandya, Senior Consultant Female Urologist said that the Centre for Functional and Female Urology seeks to bridge this gap by offering evidence-based treatments, minimally invasive surgical options, pelvic floor rehabilitation, and personalized counseling under one roof.
