Aamir Khan calls Mahabharat one of his ‘biggest ambitions’; reveals interesting details about the film
As a producer; actor, we will see. We should cast based on who is appropriate for which part. So, I think as a producer for sure.”
Aamir Khan has been talking about making Mahabharat for the past few years. In a recent interview, he opened up about the project and called it one of his ‘biggest ambitions’. The actor revealed that work on Mahabharat will hopefully start this year and that it will be made into multiple films. He also revealed that more than one director will helm the project.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, when Aamir was asked about his ambition, the 60-year-old actor said, “I always believe in stories and I have always loved stories. So, my ambition is to continue to tell stories which touch our hearts. The one other ambition that I have which I am hoping to start work on this year, is working on the Mahabharat. That’s one of my biggest ambitions. So, fingers crossed, hoping to start this year. It will take a while because just the writing process will take a few years.”
When asked if he will be a part of the project as an actor and as a producer, Aamir said, “As a producer; actor, we will see. We should cast based on who is appropriate for which part. So, I think as a producer for sure.”
Further while talking about which filmmaker will direct it, he said, “I don’t think you can tell Mahabharat in one film. So, it would be multiple films. It is too early to say, but we might need multiple directors if we have to plan it in a certain timeline. If we do one after the other, it will take very long; like they did it for The Lord Of The Rings. They shot three parts together. So, in that case, you might need more than one director.”
