Door-to-door awareness drive

The government will initiate a door-to-door awareness campaign titled “Intintiki Mana Mitra”, wherein Secretariat staff will visit every household across the state

Citizens have been urged to save the official number – 9552300009 – on their phones to access a wide range of public services seamlessly from their mobile devices.

Currently, the Mana Mitra platform provides access to more than 250 government services, including downloading birth and death certificates, paying utility bills (electricity, property tax, water tax), reserving bus tickets, and even booking services at prominent temples including Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). The government plans to scale this up to 500 services by June 12 and ultimately cross 1,000 services in the coming months.

The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) is encouraging residents to make active use of the ‘PuraMitra’ mobile application, a digital platform launched by the Andhra Pradesh government.

Speaking to Metro India, VMC In-Charge Commissioner Dr. D. Chandrasekhar emphasized the utility and efficiency of the app in enabling direct communication between citizens and municipal authorities. “The PuraMitra app is a powerful tool in the hands of the people. It ensures that residents can report any civic grievance—from garbage issues to water leakage—right from their mobile phones. Our goal is to provide immediate, accountable, and localized responses.”

Through the PuraMitra app, residents of Vijayawada can log in using their mobile number, take a photograph of the issue, and upload it directly to the app. The complaint is then automatically routed to the nearest ward secretariat, where designated staff take up the matter on priority. “Once a complaint is submitted, our secretariat staff are alerted in real-time. They’re tasked with attending to the problem without delay. This cuts down bureaucratic lag and ensures direct accountability,” the Commissioner added.

Whether it's overflowing drains, potholes, broken streetlights, or illegal dumping, citizens no longer have to physically visit municipal offices or wait endlessly for action. The app brings transparency, traceability, and trust into urban governance.
