Treating joint pain

23-12-2024 12:00:00 AM

Joint pain, especially in the legs and back, is a common issue among senior citizens. Often seen as an inevitable part of ageing, many resort to painkillers for temporary relief, overlooking the side effects and emotional impact of chronic pain. Instead of resigning to pain, a holistic approach can help individuals to manage their joint health.

Osteoarthritis (OA), the most prevalent form of arthritis, is a major contributor to joint pain and disability in older adults. Contrary to the misconception that OA is simply wear and tear, it's a complex process involving abnormal remodelling of joint tissues driven by inflammation. Various factors contribute to OA, including age, gender, joint injuries, obesity, genetics, and joint misalignment.

While conventional medicine focuses on pain management and symptom relief, complementary therapies like Sujok offer a holistic perspective. Here's how a holistic approach incorporating Sujok can benefit those with joint pain:

Pain management: Sujok techniques, including acupressure using readily available materials like fenugreek seeds, can provide quick and effective pain relief by stimulating corresponding points on the hands or feet.

Reduced reliance on painkillers: By addressing the root cause of pain, Sujok can reduce their dependence on pain medications.

Improved joint function: Sujok improves joint mobility and flexibility by reducing inflammation.

Treatment

The treatment for weakness of joints (whole body) is – paste white side of Byol magnet on tape and put it on JD 1b (see figure) for 12 hours everyday. The magnet can be reused, but the tape should be changed daily. These meridians points are on the left and right toes. One may treat both toes or one toe only.
