The temple town of Yadagirigutta is soon going to have an added attraction in the form of a Mini Shilparamam. Being developed in an acre, it nestles beside a scenic lake in Rayagiri village, which will soon feature boating facilities with water sourced from the Basavapur reservoir—offering a picturesque setting for visitors and pilgrims alike.
Speaking to Metro India, Special Officer for Shilparamam, G Kishan Rao who is also the Vice-Chairman and CEO of Yadagirigutta Temple Development Authority (YTDA), highlighted the intent behind this cultural enclave: “This Shilparamam idea was conceived so that scores of pilgrims visiting the temple town could spend some time in this beautiful cultural and traditional setting along with their families and kids.”
“It’s not just a tourist destination—it’s a sustainable model for rural development, artist empowerment, and cultural preservation,” he added. The new centre aims to provide a permanent platform for local artisans, craftsmen, artists, and performers from Yadagirigutta and surrounding mandals. It is expected to become a hub of rural creativity, showcasing Telangana’s rich artistic heritage in a family-friendly environment.
This will be the third Shilparamam after Hitech City (Established in 1988) and Uppal Bhagayath (Opened in 1919). Each of these centres shares a common mission: to preserve India’s intangible cultural heritage, support traditional craftsmen, and offer city dwellers and tourists a window into India’s folk traditions and rural artistry.
With works nearing completion, the Yadagirigutta Mini Shilparamam is expected to be inaugurated in the coming weeks, possibly coinciding with the State Formation Day festivities. If plans proceed as envisioned, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is likely to inaugurate the centre, adding another milestone to Telangana’s vibrant cultural map.
