In a scathing address during the Congress party’s extended Working Committee meeting on the banks of the Sabarmati River, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched a blistering attack on the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing them of promoting Nathuram Godse’s ideology and suppressing democratic voices in the country.
Speaking on day 2 of the national convention, Revanth appealed to all citizens, particularly followers of the Gandhi family and ideology, to unite against the BJP's divisive politics. He accused the Modi government of enacting anti-farmer laws and refusing dialogue with protesting farmers who agitated for over a year. He also condemned the government's alleged role in fuelling violence in Manipur and undermining the rights of indigenous communities.
Revanth Reddy criticized PM Modi for failing to deliver on job promises, noting that despite the assurance of 2 crore jobs per year, unemployment among the youth has only risen. He also slammed the central government for silencing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Parliament, especially on critical issues like the caste census.
“BJP leaders today are more dangerous than the British. Just as Mahatma Gandhi led the fight to expel colonial rulers, we must now unite under Rahul Gandhi to drive the BJP out of power,” Reddy declared.
He vowed to prevent the BJP from gaining a foothold in Telangana and invoked the historical role of Vallabhbhai Patel and Sonia Gandhi in the state’s liberation and formation, respectively. TG’s Caste Census, Farm Loan waiver a Model for the Nation: Revanth
Revanth Reddy underlined the Congress government’s key achievements in Telangana, showcasing them as a blueprint for national implementation. He announced that the state government waived Rs 21,000 crore in farm loans within 10 months of assuming office, benefitting over 25 lakh farmers.
Revanth proudly noted that Telangana had successfully conducted a caste census, fulfilling a major promise made by their leader, Rahul Gandhi, during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. He emphasized the need to replicate these people-centric policies—such as loan waivers, youth job creation, and women’s welfare—across India.
“What we implemented in Telangana under Rahul Gandhi’s vision can be expanded nationwide. We have shown that Congress keeps its promises,” Reddy asserted. Asserting that the Congress will stop BJP’s advance into Telangana, Revanth ended his address with a rallying cry for all Gandhians and Congress workers to unite in the fight for a just, inclusive, and secular India.
