Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu announced that a 'Quantum Valley' would be established in Amaravati with the support of IIT Madras. Speaking at the All India Research Scholars Summit (AIRSS) 2025 at IIT Madras, where he was the chief guest, Naidu emphasized his vision of making Andhra Pradesh a hub for AI and deep technology, similar to his establishment of Hyderabad’s Hi-Tech City in 1995.

Naidu highlighted that 65% of Indians are already using AI, significantly higher than the global average of 30%. He urged students to take the lead in emerging technologies such as AI and quantum computing. During the summit, he engaged with research scholars, addressing their queries and elaborating on India's technological advancements.

He further discussed how telecom sector reforms led to the end of monopolies like BSNL and VSNL, allowing private players to enter and revolutionize the industry. Naidu emphasized that the global focus is now on India, with the country set to play a dominant role in the coming years.

Referring to IIT Madras as a pioneer in multiple domains, he praised its contributions to online education and research. He highlighted startups like Agnikula Cosmos and Mindgro Technologies, which are propelling India forward in space and semiconductor industries. He noted that 80% of startups from IIT Madras have been successful and that nearly 40% of its students hail from the Telugu-speaking states.

Naidu emphasized that India’s population is a significant advantage, with no immediate concerns of demographic decline for at least 40 years. He noted the high per capita income of Indians in the United States, where Telugu and Tamil communities dominate affluent areas. He also highlighted the growing influence of Indians in Silicon Valley, NASA, and Wall Street, further cementing India's global technological leadership.

Andhra Pradesh is at the forefront of green energy production, surpassing other Indian states. The government plans to generate electricity at Rs.2 per unit and contribute 160 gigawatts to India’s target of 500 gigawatts of renewable energy. Naidu revealed that Rs.10 lakh crore ($120 billion) in investments are expected in the energy sector, generating 7.5 lakh jobs.

Key projects include NTPC’s Green Hydrogen Unit and Reliance’s Bioenergy investments. Additionally, AP plans to install rooftop solar panels on 20 lakh homes within the next two years, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable energy.

Expressing his commitment to making Andhra Pradesh an innovation hub, Naidu assured that the state would provide proof-of-concept opportunities for cutting-edge technologies. He concluded by stating that with the right leadership and technological advancements, India is poised for unprecedented growth.

IIT Madras Director, Professor V. Kamakoti, lauded Chandrababu Naidu as a visionary leader who played a pivotal role in the development of Cyberabad. He acknowledged Naidu’s contributions in shaping India’s technology landscape and expressed confidence in his ability to lead Andhra Pradesh toward a new era of innovation.
