Govt junior colleges shine
Government-run educational institutions have shown significant improvement. Government Junior Colleges (GJCs), often seen trailing behind private institutions, have reported a remarkable second-year pass percentage of 69%, the highest in ten years. In first-year results, 47% of students from GJCs passed, which is the second-highest in the last decade.
More than one million students across both first and second years appeared for the Intermediate exams this year, reflecting the vast scale and importance of this academic milestone in the state’s educational calendar.
Authorities have announced that supplementary exams for failed candidates will be conducted from May 12 to May 20. Practical supplementary exams are scheduled between May 28 and June 1, and will be held at district headquarters only.
Students intending to appear for the supplementary exams must pay the examination fee between April 15 and April 22. Those wishing to apply for re-counting or re-verification of their answer sheets can do so from April 13 to April 22.
Vocational stream results also saw a historic rise. In the first year of Intermediate Vocational courses in GJCs, 64% of students passed—another record for the last ten years. In the second year, the pass rate jumped to 82%, signalling a turnaround in the vocational education sector.
