Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya along with his family had darshan of Lord Venkateswara Swamy at Tirumala Tirupati on the occasion of Vaikuntha Ekadashi.

After the darshan, he said that having the darshan of Lord Venkateswara, the Lord of the Seven Hills, with his family on the day of Vaikuntha Ekadashi, through Vaikuntha Dwara was very happy, spiritual, and brought peace to the mind.

The governor said that all devotees come to see the Lord with great devotion and eagerness, believing that if they see the Lord through the north on the day of Vaikuntha Ekadashi, they will attain salvation and their lives will be blessed.

He said that the tragic incident in which six devotees who had come a day before this festival with the hope of getting tickets to see the Lord, had died, and that it was a human error. He said that the authorities and the government are asking them to protect the trust of the devotees so that such incidents do not happen again.

Dattatreya called upon all of us to preserve all the Indian cultural traditions and customs in our country, and said that although the older generation is continuing this, the new generation needs to take it up. He opined that these cultural traditions should be taught properly, and that proper understanding can be gained only if education is provided in the mother tongue.

He said that if ethics and sciences like the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagavatam, Puranas, Vemana Shatakam, Sumati Shatakam, and Vedas are to be studied, Sanskrit is the main language, and since this is not easy for everyone, their essence can be understood in the mother tongue itself.

He mentioned that in the National Education Policy 2020, most of the education would be in our mother tongue in primary and secondary education.

He said that both the Chief Ministers of Telugu states are requesting them to take the initiative for education in the mother tongue. Bandaru Dattatreya informed that he prayed to God to grant more strength to the Prime Minister of the country, Shri Narendra Modi, and to make his vision of a developed India by 2047 a success.
