The central government has taken a major decision for the construction of the Outer Ring Road in Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. The central government has given the green signal for the construction of Outer Ring Road(ORR) to connect Amaravati with the national highways in India. The gazette notification for land acquisition within a radius of 189.9 km has been issued.
Apart from NTR district, they will be in Eluru, Krishna, Palnadu and Guntur districts. The central government has released a gazette document for land acquisition. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is likely to issue notifications in this regard on the basis of their divisions. District-wise notifications are issued by collectors for land acquisition.
The Andhra Pradesh government will approve the proposal to have some changes in the ORR alignment from NHAI, as well as the recommendations for alignment of 2 link roads. It will then be sent to the Union Ministry of Transport and Highways for final approval. Land acquisition officers have been appointed in five districts. The construction will cover 121 villages in 23 mandals.
The alignment of the Outer Ring Road passes through 24 villages in Krishna district, 11 villages in Eluru district, 28 villages in NTR district, 46 villages in in Guntur district, and 12 villages in Palnadu district. Similarly, the structures coming up in the Outer Ring Road include High voltage crossing at 34 locations,3 tunnels, 7 Railway Over Bridges(ROB),78 underpasses , 51 small bridges, 14 large bridges and 9 interchanges.
