"Every resident of the state deserves to feel secure, and the state government will take on the responsibility of meeting the needs of the police department," stated Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka.
During a discussion with police officials regarding various issues as part of the Pre-Budget meetings at the Secretariat on Saturday, the Deputy Chief Minister highlighted the rapid development of Telangana as an urban state. He noted that, in addition to the three existing city zones in Hyderabad, a new area known as Future City is in the works.
The construction of the Regional Ring Road is also progressing quickly. Due to factors such as the state's financial resources, climate, and job opportunities, there has been an increase in migration to Hyderabad and the state overall. In light of this, the Home department needs to enhance its security measures, he said. The Deputy Chief Minister reassured the police officials that there would be a special emphasis on addressing issues in border areas.
Stating that the Telangana police has a good reputation in the country, particularly in solving cybercrime cases they are leading in the country, Vikramarka complimented the police officials and staff and also directed them to send proposals for construction of police quarters wherever there was possibility. The Deputy Chief Minister said that police officers must try to mobilization of CSR Funds wherever possible and use the funds for strengthening the police department.
Vikramarka also reviewed the posts filled in the police department in the last one year and the vacancies at present. The police officials submitted reports on budget requirements for eight divisions such as Greyhound, Narcotics, Intelligence, Fire, ex-servicemen. DGP Jitendra submitted an overall report on the budget for the entire Police department.
Special Chief Secretary (Finance) Ramakrishna Rao, Home Department Principal Secretary Ravi Gupta, DG Abhilash Bisht, Greyhounds, Octopus Additional DG Stephen Ravindra, Hyderabad City Commissioner C V Anand , Rachakonda CP Sudhir Babu, Cyberabad CP Avinash Mohanty and others were present in the meeting.
