Andhra Pradesh is set to showcase the 400-year-old legacy of Etikoppaka Bommalu, the eco-friendly wooden toys, through a tableau during the Republic Day parade in New Delhi. Expressing his happiness on the occasion, Ankapalli MP Dr C M Ramesh said that Etikoppaka is the pride of Anakapalli district as well as the country in the making of lakka dolls.

Etikoppaka toys depict mythological figures and designs inspired by ancient civilizations such as Mohenjo Daro and Harappa.  "We congratulate all those responsible for this, hoping that our Etikoppaka dolls sakatam, designed by the information and public relations department on behalf of the State Government of Andhra Pradesh will reflect the Telugu traditions, and will also be selected as the best exibit.” The Anakapalli MP informed that special arrangements were also made for dance performances who are to reach Delhi by AP Express train from Visakhapatnam.
