Andhra Pradesh is fast positioning itself as a top destination for investments in the hospitality and tourism sectors, said State Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh, addressing leading national and international hotel and travel industry representatives at the 20th South Asia Hotel Investment Conference (SAHIC), currently underway in Mumbai.

On the first day of the event, Minister Durgesh held extensive meetings with over 20 major hotel and travel companies, including global giants such as Marriott, IHG, IHC, Accor, Chalet, Imagicaa World Entertainment Ltd, Hilton, Lemon Tree, The Park Hotels, Royal Orchid, and Blackstone, among others.

The Minister was accompanied by Tourism Secretary Ajay Jain, AP Tourism MD Aamrapali Kata, and Investment Promotion Nodal Officer Sathya Prabha from the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority. The delegation engaged in strategic discussions with stakeholders, developers, and operators from across South Asia, focusing on expanding hospitality infrastructure in AP.

Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s untapped potential, Minister Durgesh extended a formal invitation to investors to set up luxury resorts and hotels in tourism hotspots such as Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Amaravati, and Rajamahendravaram. He emphasized that now is the right time to invest in AP, given the proactive support from both the state and central governments.

“The government is committed to offering comprehensive incentives and a business-friendly environment for investors. All benefits extended to industries will be made available to those investing in tourism and hospitality as well,” the Minister stated.

He assured stakeholders that the state will provide full support and confidence to investors, making Andhra Pradesh a secure and rewarding destination for long-term investments in the hospitality sector.

Following the meetings, several companies reportedly expressed keen interest in exploring investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh. The state delegation is expected to continue its interactions throughout the three-day conference, aiming to forge strategic partnerships and bring in significant capital to boost tourism infrastructure.
