Action plan for Dalit empowerment launched in Hyderabad

A one-year action plan was unveiled on Republic Day i.e. 26th of January at Hyderabad featuring capacity building programs for underprivileged youth, modules on Dr.Ambedkar Darshan to spread his visionary ideals and collaborative efforts with organizations across India.

The occasion was a seminar titled “Implementation of the Constitution: Challenges in Socio-Economic Progress” organized at the center for Dalit Studies. The seminar saw powerful discussions led by prominent personalities such as Prof R Limbadri , Dr. Rajashekhar Wundru, Advocate Rajni Soren and Prof. Hargopal along with grassroots leaders from various states.

Their speeches highlighted the urgent need to tackle inequalities and ensure that the constitutional promise of justice, equality and dignity reaches every citizen. The event drew over 400 participants including legal luminaries,social activists and educationists. Former Supreme Court Judge Justice Sudarshan Reddy graced the event as chief guest.

The representatives announced the launch of a nation wide capmapign to promote the Constitution, multilingual publication by name “The Democract” to educate citizens about their rights and duties. They also resolved to address issues like private sector reservations, establishment of a Scheduled Caste Tribe Development Fund Act and equitable allocation of land for disadvantaged http://communities.

To ensure the campaign’s success, the National Dalit Coordination Committee was formed under the leadership of Mallepalli Lakshmaiah, with representatives from states like Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. A “Movement Support Unit” led by Bhanwar Meghawanshi will oversee the campaign’s implementation across the country.
